Northamptonshire County Council Trading Standards, with the support of the Food Standards Agency, has successfully prosecuted One Foods Limited ? the company behind an organic food scam worth more than half a million pounds.

Some Dolmio pasta sauce recalled

Mars Food UK is recalling some of its Dolmio Express Creamy Carbonara Pasta Sauce, because it might contain small pieces of hard plastic. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.

Food Champion Awards launched

FSA Scotland seeks contractor to produce and supply floor mats

The Food Standards Agency in Scotland is seeking a contractor to produce and supply 4,500 eatwell.gov.uk floor mats for use in Scottish primary and secondary educational establishments. The eatwell site provides practical healthy eating and food safety tips for consumers.

ASDA withdraws Chocolate Delights

Asda has withdrawn its own-brand Chocolate Delights because the product contains soya that is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone who is allergic to soya. The Agency has issued an Allergy Alert.

FSA stakeholder simplification event – action plan now published

The Food Standards Agency has drawn up an action plan to address recommendations from the third annual Simplification Stakeholder Event held in June. Stakeholders wanted to see positive action as a result of this event and, as promised, an action plan has now been published.

GM engagement project chair announced

At today’s Agency open Board meeting, Tim Smith, Chief Executive of the Food Standards Agency, announced that Professor John Curtice of the University of Strathclyde, is to chair the independent steering group that will advise the Agency on its forthcoming consumer engagement work on genetic modification (GM).
